The Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2025

Coming into operation: 31st March 2025
The Executive Office [^f00001] makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 50 and 51 of the Fair Employment and Treatment (Northern Ireland) Order 1998[^f00002] and now vested in it[^f00003].
Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2025 and shall come into operation on 31st March 2025.
Amendment of the Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004

For the Schedule to the Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004[^f00004] substitute the Schedule set out in the Schedule to this Order.
Revocation

The Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2023[^f00005] is revoked.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order amends the Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004 (“the 2004 Order”) which specifies a number of persons or bodies as public authorities for certain purposes under Part VII of the Fair Employment and Treatment (Northern Ireland) Order 1998 (“the 1998 Order”).
The Schedule to the 2004 Order lists in Part I the bodies who are public authorities for the purposes of Articles 52 to 65 of the 1998 Order and in Part II the bodies who are public authorities for the purposes of Articles 62 to 65 of the 1998 Order.
Article 2 of this Order substitutes a new Schedule to the 2004 Order.
The following bodies have been added to Part I of the Schedule:
Commissioner for Survivors of Institutional Childhood Abuse
Historical Institutional Abuse Redress Board
The Independent Commission for Reconciliation and Information Recovery
Northern Ireland Authority for Utility Regulation
The following amendments have been made to Part I of the Schedule:
Northern Ireland Guardian Ad Litem Agency
has been amended to:
Children’s Court Guardian Agency for Northern Ireland
The following deletions have been made to Part I of the Schedule:
Dalriada Water Ltd
NI Water Clear Ltd
The following deletions have been made to Part II of the Schedule:
The Lord Chancellor
Northern Ireland Authority for Utility Regulation
Article 3 revokes the Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2023.
