The Department of Education[^f00001], in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 24(1) to (3) and (5) and 43(5) of the Education (Northern Ireland) Order 2006[^f00002], and after consulting as required by Article 24(4) of that Order, makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Pupil Reporting) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2026 and shall come into operation on 30th March 2026.

Interpretation

In these Regulations—

“the 2009 Regulations” means the Education (Pupil Reporting) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009[^f00003].

Amendment of the 2009 Regulations

(1) The 2009 Regulations are amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) to (4).

(2) Regulation 7 and Schedule 2 are revoked.

(3) In regulation 9(1) for “regulations 5, 6 and 7” substitute “regulations 5 and 6”.

(4) In regulation 10(1) for “regulations 5(1), 7 and 9” substitute “regulations 5(1) and 9”.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Education (Pupil Reporting) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 by omitting regulation 7 and Schedule 2 which provided for the reporting of specified end of key stage 1-3 information. They also make a consequential amendment to regulations 9 and 10 to remove a reference to regulation 7.
