The Health Act 1999 (Commencement No. 6) (Scotland) Order 1999
Made: 13th October 1999
The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 67(1) of the Health Act 1999[^f00001] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order–
Citation, interpretation and extent

- (1) This Order may be cited as the Health Act 1999 (Commencement No. 6) (Scotland) Order 1999.
- (2) In this Order “the Act” means the Health Act 1999.
- (3) This order extends to Scotland only.
Appointed day
2
14th October 1999 is the day appointed for the coming into force of section 59 of the Act.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force, in relation to Scotland, further provisions of the Health Act 1999 (c. 8) (“the Health Act”).
The provisions which are brought into force relate to the recovery of charges and payments where a person fails to pay an NHS charge or receives a payment or benefit towards the cost of an NHS charge or service to which he is not entitled.
