The Health Act 1999 (Commencement No. 7) (Scotland) Order 2000
Made: 29th February 2000
The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 67(1) of the Health Act 1999[^f00001] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order–
Citation, interpretation and extent

- (1) This Order may be cited as the Health Act 1999 (Commencement No. 7) (Scotland) Order 2000.
- (2) In this Order “the Act” means the Health Act 1999.
- (3) This Order extends to Scotland only.
Appointed day
2
1st March 2000 is the day appointed for the coming into force of sections 43 and 56 of the Act.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force, in relation to Scotland, further provisions of the Health Act 1999 (c. 8) (“the Health Act”).
Section 43 which is brought into force amends the provisions of the Health Service Commissioners Act 1993 (c. 46) relating to the confidentiality and disclosure of information.
Section 56 which is brought into force relates to the making of Regulations concerning indemnity cover to be held by relevant practitioners.
