The National Health Service Trusts (Dissolution) (Scotland) Order 2004

Made: 9th March 2004

Coming into force: 1st April 2004

The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 12A(1) and 105(6) of, and paragraph 25(1) of Schedule 7A to, the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978[^f00001] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, having received an application[^f00002] from each of the National Health Service trusts specified in Schedule 1 to this Order, and after completion of the consultation prescribed under paragraph 25(3) of the said Schedule 7A[^f00003], hereby make the following Order:

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the National Health Service Trusts (Dissolution) (Scotland) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 1st April 2004.

Dissolution of NHS trusts

The National Health Service trusts specified in Schedule 1 to this Order are hereby dissolved.

Revocations

The Orders specified in Schedule 2 to this Order are hereby revoked.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order dissolves on 1st April 2004 all the remaining National Health Service trusts (“NHS trusts”) in Scotland which have not so far been dissolved.

Article 2 of this Order dissolves on that date the eighteen NHS trusts which are specified in Schedule 1 to the Order.

Article 3 of this Order also revokes on that date all the Orders establishing those NHS trusts and the Orders amending those Orders. These Orders are specified in Schedule 2 to this Order.
