The Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Amendment (Scotland) Order 2004

The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1, 7 and 23(f) and (g) of the Animal Health Act 1981[^f00001], and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:

Citation, commencement and extent

• (1) This Order may be cited as the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Amendment (Scotland) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 8th December 2004.

• (2) This Order extends to Scotland only.

Amendments to the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Order 1978

The Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Order 1978[^f00002] shall be amended as follows:–

• (a) in article 6(2) for “31st August 2003” substitute “28th February 2005”[^f00003];

• (b) for Schedule 1 (approved disinfectants), substitute the Schedule set out in Schedule 1 to this Order; and

• (c) for Schedule 2 (approved disinfectants subject to transitional provisions), substitute the Schedule set out in Schedule 2 to this Order.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order, which extends to Scotland only, amends the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Order 1978 by substituting Schedules 1 and 2 to that Order (article 2). Schedule 1 provides an updated list of disinfectants approved by the Scottish Ministers. Schedule 2 lists disinfectants which can continue to be used as approved disinfectants until 28th February 2005.

This Order was notified in draft to the European Commission in accordance with Directive 98/34/EC (O.J. No. L 204, 21/07/98, p.37) as amended by Directive 98/48/EC (O.J. No. L 217, 05/08/98, p.18).

A Regulatory Impact Assessment has not been prepared in respect of this Order.
