The Electronic Fingerprinting etc. Device Approval (Scotland) Order 2005

The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 18(7B) of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995[^f00001], and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Electronic Fingerprinting etc. Device Approval (Scotland) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 14th February 2005.

Device Approved

For the purpose of creating such records as are mentioned in paragraph (d) of section 18(7A) of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995 (record of a person’s skin on an external part of the body), the device known as the Smiths Heimann Biometric Device LS1 LITE U CE is hereby approved.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

The Electronic Fingerprinting etc Device Approval (Scotland) Order 1997 (S.I. 1997/1939) approved the device known as the Digital Biometrics Incorporation (DBI) Tenprinter 1133S, with palmprint option, for the purpose of creating such records as are mentioned in paragraph (d) of section 18(7A) of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995.

This Order approves the additional device known as the Smiths Heimann Biometric Device LS1 LITE U CE for the purpose of creating such records as are mentioned in paragraph (d) of section 18(7A) of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995 (records of a person’s skin on an external part of the body).
