Coming into force: 2nd December 2009

The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections1, 7, 35(1) and 88(2) and (4)(a) of the Animal Health Act 1981[^f00001] and all other powers enabling them to do so.

Citation, commencement and extent

This Order may be cited as the Specified Animal Pathogens (Scotland) Amendment Order 2009 and comes into force on 2nd December 2009.

In Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the Specified Animal Pathogens (Scotland) Order 2009[^f00002] (specified animal pathogens) after item number 34 (peste des petits ruminants virus) insert—

(34A) Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome virus genotype 2.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order amends the Specified Animal Pathogens (Scotland) Order 2009 to add a further pathogen (Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome virus genotype 2) to the list in Part 1 of Schedule1.

This Order has been notified in draft to the European Commission in accordance with Directive 98/34/EC (O.J. No. L 204, 21.07.1998, p.37), as amended by Directive 98/48/EC (O.J. No. L 217, 05.08.1998, p.18).

A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no impact on the costs of business, charities or the voluntary sector.
