The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 37(1) of the Prisons (Scotland) Act 1989[^f00001] and all other powers enabling them to do so.

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Discontinuance of Aberdeen and Peterhead Prisons (Scotland) Order 2014 and comes into force on 26th February 2014.

Aberdeen Prison and Peterhead Prison are discontinued.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order provides for the discontinuance of Aberdeen Prison and Peterhead Prison on the day on which the Order comes into force.
