The Civil Partnership (Prescribed Bodies) (Scotland) Regulations 2014

Coming into force: 16th December 2014
In accordance with section 94A(2)(a)[^f00002] of the Civil Partnership Act 2004 the bodies prescribed in regulation 2 have requested the Scottish Ministers to prescribe them.
Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Civil Partnership (Prescribed Bodies) (Scotland) Regulations 2014 and come into force on 16th December 2014.

The body prescribed for the purposes of section 94A(1)(a)(i) of the Civil Partnership Act 2004 is listed in the Schedule to these Regulations.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
EXPLANATORY NOTE
Section 94A(1)(a)(i) of the Civil Partnership Act 2004 enables the Scottish Ministers to prescribe the religious or belief bodies whose ministers, clergymen, pastors, priests or other celebrants are entitled to register civil partnerships without the need to be registered as approved celebrants or temporarily authorised under the Civil Partnership Act 2004.
Regulation 2 of these Regulations prescribes the Scottish Unitarian Association.
