The National Health Service (General Dental Services) (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Scotland) Regulations 2018

The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 25(1), 28A(4), 105(7) and 106(a) of the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978[^f00001] and all other powers enabling them to do so.

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the National Health Service (General Dental Services) (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Scotland) Regulations 2018 and come into force on 1 December 2018.

Amendment of the National Health Service (General Dental Services) (Scotland) Regulations 2010

• (1) The National Health Service (General Dental Services) (Scotland) Regulations 2010[^f00002] are amended as follows.

• (2) In schedule 1 (terms of service for dentists)—

• (a) in paragraph 20(2A) (remuneration)[^f00003], for “1 January 2019” substitute “1 January 2020”, and

• (b) in paragraph 29(4) (completion of estimate)[^f00004], for “1st January 2019” substitute “1January 2020”.

• (1) The National Health Service (General Dental Services) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2017[^f00005] are amended as follows.

• (2) In regulation 1 (citation and commencement), for paragraph (5) substitute “Regulations 3(1)(d), 6 and 11(4)(a) come into force on 1 January 2020.”.

• (3) In regulation 3, omit paragraph 2.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the National Health Service (General Dental Services) (Scotland) Regulations 2010 (“the 2010 Regulations”) and the National Health Service (General Dental Services) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2017 (“the 2017 Regulations”).

Regulation 2 amends the date relevant to submission of estimates in paragraphs 20 and 29 of schedule 1 of the 2010 Regulations to mirror the amended commencement dates made by regulation 3. Regulation 3 amends the commencement date of amendments made to the 2010 Regulations by regulations 3(1)(d), 6 and 11(4)(a) of the 2017 Regulations and omits paragraph 3(2) of the 2017 Regulations.
