Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (Judicial Members) Amendment Order 2020 and comes into force on 27 April 2020.
Amendment of the Judiciary and Courts (Scotland) Act 2008

In paragraph 2(2)(e) of schedule 3 of the Judiciary and Courts (Scotland) Act 2008 (judicial members of the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service), for “holding the office of sheriff” substitute “, each holding either the office of sheriff or of summary sheriff”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order amends the Judiciary and Courts (Scotland) Act 2008 to provide that those holding the office of summary sheriff may now be appointed to the board of the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service.
