In accordance with section 70(3) of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007, the Scottish Ministers have had regard to the circumstances in which the fees are payable, and the desirability of maintaining an appropriate balance among the quality of the performance of their vetting, barring and disclosure functions, the cost of that performance and the fees paid to them in respect of that performance.

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Police Act 1997 and the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 (Fees) (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 and come into force on 26 December 2020.

In Paragraph (1) of Regulation 5 (expiry) of the Police Act 1997 and the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 (Fees) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2020[^f00003] for “6 months” substitute “9 months”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Police Act 1997 and the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 (Fees) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2020 (“the 2020 Regulations”). Regulation 5 of the 2020 Regulations provides that they will cease to have effect after 6 months from the date on which they came into force. They came into force on 26 June 2020. These Regulations amend the 2020 Regulations so that they will cease to have effect after 9 months from the date on which they came into force.
