Coming into force: 24th February 2021

The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 145(2) and (3) of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015[^f00001].

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 (Commencement No. 12 and Saving Provision) Order 2020 and comes into force on 24 February 2021.

Appointed day

The day appointed for the coming into force, insofar as not already in force, of sections 62 to 73 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 (modifications of Part 3 of Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003) is 24 February 2021.

Saving provision

The provisions brought into force by this Order are of no effect in relation to applications made under section 73(2) of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003[^f00002] before 24 February 2021.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into force sections 62 to 73 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 (“the Act”) on 24 February 2021, in so far as not already in force. Those provisions modify Part 3 of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 (the Crofting Community Right to Buy).

The Bill for the Act received Royal Assent on 24 July 2015. Sections 141 to 143, 145 and 146 came into force the following day.
