The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the power conferred by section 32(2) of the Climate Change (Emissions Reduction Targets) (Scotland) Act 2019[^f00001].

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Climate Change (Emissions Reduction Targets) (Scotland) Act 2019 (Commencement) Regulations 2020 and come into force on 23 March 2020.

Appointed day

23 March 2020 is the appointed day for the coming into force of the Climate Change (Emissions Reduction Targets) (Scotland) Act 2019, so far as not already in force.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Bill for the Climate Change (Emissions Reduction Targets) (Scotland) Act 2019 (“the Act”) received Royal Assent on 31 October 2019. Sections 30 to 33 came into force the following day. These Regulations bring into force the remaining provisions of the Act on 23 March 2020.
