The Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020 (Early Expiry of Provisions) Regulations 2022

The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the power conferred on them by section 13(1) of the Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020[^f00001] and all other powers enabling them to do so.

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020 (Early Expiry of Provisions) Regulations 2022 and come into force on 10 March 2022.

Expiry of provisions of the Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020

10 March 2022 is specified as the day on which paragraph 18(1) and (3) (modifications of the Parole Board Rules) of schedule 4 of the Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020[^f00002] expire.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations expire the provisions in paragraph 18 of schedule 4 of the Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020 which have not already expired.

Paragraph 18(1) introduced substantive modifications made by sub-paragraphs (2) to (5). It is being expired along with the last such modification which remains in force (paragraph 18(3)).

Paragraph 18(3) modified the provision made in the Parole Board (Scotland) Rules 2001 for the use of live link (e.g. video link or teleconference) for the conduct of proceedings of the Parole Board for Scotland. The modifications extended the circumstances in which live link could be used.

No Business or Regulatory Impact Assessment has been prepared for these Regulations as no impact upon business, charities or voluntary bodies is foreseen.
