The Food and Feed Safety (Fukushima Restrictions) (Scotland) Revocation Regulations 2022

There has been consultation as required by Article 9 of that Regulation.

Citation, commencement and extent

• (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Food and Feed Safety (Fukushima Restrictions) (Scotland) Revocation Regulations 2022, and come into force on 25 June 2022.

• (2) These Regulations extend to Scotland only.

Revocation of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/6

Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/6 of 5 January 2016 imposing special conditions governing the import of feed and food originating in or consigned from Japan following the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power station and repealing Implementing Regulation (EU) No. 322/2014[^f00002] is revoked.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations which extend to Scotland only revoke Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/6 which imposes enhanced controls on the import of certain food and feed from Japan as a result of the Fukushima nuclear accident. These Regulations also revoke Declaration OFFC 2019/S/003 which was made in terms of regulation 35 of the Official Feed and Food Controls (Scotland) Regulations 2009 and which also imposed controls on the import of certain food and feed from Japan as a result of the Fukushima nuclear accident.

Impact assessments have been prepared in relation to these Regulations and will be published online at www.gov.scot.
