The Housing (Cladding Remediation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (Commencement) Regulations 2024

The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 39(2) and (3) of the Housing (Cladding Remediation) (Scotland) Act 2024[^f00001].
Citation, commencement and interpretation

- (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Housing (Cladding Remediation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (Commencement) Regulations 2024 and come into force on 6 January 2025.
- (2) In these Regulations “the Act” means the Housing (Cladding Remediation) (Scotland) Act 2024.
Appointed day

6 January 2025 is the appointed day for the coming into force of all of the provisions of the Act, so far as not already in force.
Amendment of provision expressed by reference to date of commencement

In section 30(4) (reports on progress with single-building assessments and remediation work) of the Act, in the definition of “reporting period”, for “the day on which this section comes into force” substitute “6 January 2025”.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
EXPLANATORY NOTE
These Regulations bring into force on 6 January 2025 all of the provisions of the Housing (Cladding Remediation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (“the Act”), so far as not already in force.
The Bill for the Act received Royal Assent on 21 June 2024. By virtue of section 39(1) of the Act, sections 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39 and 40 came into force on the day after Royal Assent.
Regulation 3 amends the definition of “reporting period” in section 30(4) of the Act by substituting 6 January 2025 for a reference to the day on which that section comes into force.
