The Meat Preparations (Import Conditions) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2024

The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 10A(1) of schedule 2 of the Trade in Animals and Related Products (Scotland) Regulations 2012[^f00001] and all other powers enabling them to do so.
Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Meat Preparations (Import Conditions) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2024 and come into force on 30 April 2024.
Amendment of Commission Decision 2000/572/EC laying down the animal and public health and veterinary certification conditions for imports of meat preparations into the Community from third countries

- (1) Commission Decision 2000/572/EC laying down the animal and public health and veterinary certification conditions for imports of meat preparations into the Community from third countries[^f00002] is amended as follows.
- (2) In Article 3 (import conditions) omit point 3.
- (3) Omit Article 4za (transitional modification for imports from certain countries and territories).
Consequential Revocations

The following are revoked—
- (a) regulation 6(4) of the Animals, Food and Feed (EU Exit) (Scotland) (Amendment) Regulations 2020[^f00003],
- (b) the Meat Preparations (Import Conditions) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2021[^f00004],
- (c) the Meat Preparations (Import Conditions) (Scotland) Amendment (No. 2) Regulations 2021[^f00005],
- (d) regulation 2 of the Animal Products (Transitional Import Conditions) (Miscellaneous Amendment) (Scotland) Regulations 2021[^f00006],
- (e) the Meat Preparations (Import Conditions) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2022[^f00007],
- (f) regulation 3 of the Official Controls and Import Conditions (Transitional Periods) (Miscellaneous Amendment) (Scotland) Regulations 2022[^f00008], and
- (g) the Meat Preparations (Import Conditions) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2023[^f00009].

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
EXPLANATORY NOTE
These Regulations amend Commission Decision 2000/572/EC which lays down animal and public health and veterinary certification conditions for imports of meat preparations from third countries.
Regulation 2 amends Commission Decision 2000/572/EC to remove the import condition that meat preparations from third countries have been deep-frozen at the production plant or plants of origin.
Regulation 3 revokes, in consequence, other instruments or the provisions of other instruments which modified that import condition.
