The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 10A(1) of schedule 2 of the Trade in Animals and Related Products (Scotland) Regulations 2012[^f00001] and all other powers enabling them to do so.

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Meat Preparations (Import Conditions) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2024 and come into force on 30 April 2024.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend Commission Decision 2000/572/EC which lays down animal and public health and veterinary certification conditions for imports of meat preparations from third countries.

Regulation 2 amends Commission Decision 2000/572/EC to remove the import condition that meat preparations from third countries have been deep-frozen at the production plant or plants of origin.

Regulation 3 revokes, in consequence, other instruments or the provisions of other instruments which modified that import condition.
