The Scottish Water, Prevention of Water Pollution (Milngavie Waterworks) Byelaws Extension Order 2025

The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 72(4) of the Water (Scotland) Act 1980[^f00001] and all other powers enabling them to do so.
Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Scottish Water, Prevention of Water Pollution (Milngavie Waterworks) Byelaws Extension Order 2025 and comes into force on 28 September 2025.
Extension

The period during which the Scottish Water, Prevention of Water Pollution (Milngavie Waterworks) Byelaws 2015[^f00002] are to remain in force is extended to 29 September 2026.

Explanatory Note
This Order extends the period during which the Scottish Water, Prevention of Water Pollution (Milngavie Waterworks) Byelaws 2015 are to remain in force to 29 September 2026. A copy of the Byelaws may be obtained from Scottish Water, The Bridge, Buchanan Gate Business Park, Cumbernauld Road, Stepps, G33 6FB, and online at www.scottishwater.co.uk.

[^f00001]: 1980 c. 45. The functions of the Secretary of State were transferred to the Scottish Ministers by virtue of section 53 of the Scotland Act 1998 (c. 46).
[^f00002]: The Scottish Water, Prevention of Water Pollution (Milngavie Waterworks) Byelaws 2015 were made by Scottish Water on 30 September 2015 and came into operation on 16 November 2015. The functions of the water authority or water development board to make byelaws under sections 70 to 72 of the Water (Scotland) Act 1980 (c. 45) (“the 1980 Act”) were transferred to newly established water authorities by section 62 of the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994 (c. 39) (“the 1994 Act”), and subsequently transferred to Scottish Water by section 21 of the Water Industry (Scotland) Act 2002 (asp 3) (“the 2002 Act”). Sections 70 to 72 of the 1980 Act were relevantly amended by paragraphs 37 to 39 of schedule 13 of the 1994 Act and by paragraphs 44 to 46 of schedule 6 of the 2002 Act.
