The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the power conferred by section 116(2) of the Victims, Witnesses, and Justice Reform (Scotland) Act 2025[^f00001].
Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Victims, Witnesses, and Justice Reform (Scotland) Act 2025 (Commencement No. 1 and Transitional Provision) Amendment Regulations 2026 and come into force on 11 February 2026.

- (1) The Victims, Witnesses, and Justice Reform (Scotland) Act 2025 (Commencement No. 1 and Transitional Provision) Regulations 2025[^f00002] are amended in accordance with paragraph (2).
- (2) In regulation 2(2) (appointed days), for “23 March 2026” substitute “11 February 2026”.

Explanatory Note
These Regulations amend the Victims, Witnesses, and Justice Reform (Scotland) Act 2025 (Commencement No. 1 and Transitional Provision) Regulations 2025. Regulation 2 substitutes the date on which sections 55 (Parole Board rules: decisions where prisoner has information about victim’s remains) and 56 (Parole Board rules: safety and security of victims and victims’ family) come into force. Sections 55 and 56 will come into force on 11 February 2026, instead of 23 March 2026.
