Burning of bracken, gorse and vaccinium.

The power under section 20 of the Hill Farming Act 1946 to make regulations with respect to the burning of heather and grass in England and Wales shall apply also to the burning of bracken, gorse and vaccinium; and accordingly, for the words " and grass "—

(a) in both places where they occur in subsection (1) of that section; and

(b) in section 37(1)(g) of that Act (which lists regulations under section 20 among the instruments under that Act which are subject to negative resolution),

there shall be substituted the words " , grass, bracken, gorse and vaccinium ".

Short title, citation and commencement.

(1) This Act may be cited as the Hill Farming Act 1985.

(2) This Act and the Hill Farming and Livestock Rearing Acts 1946 to 1959 may be cited together as the Hill Farming and Livestock Rearing Acts 1946 to 1985.

(3) This Act shall come into force at the end of the period of two months beginning with the day on which it is passed.
