Charges prescribed in units of account

After subsection (1) of section 73 of the Civil Aviation Act 1982 (charges for air navigation services) there shall be inserted—

(1A) Regulations under subsection (1)(a) above may— (a) prescribe any charges to which the regulations apply in units of account defined by reference to more than one currency; and (b) make provision for any charges prescribed in such units to be paid and recovered either in such units or in their equivalent, as determined in accordance with the regulations, in such currencies as may be prescribed.

Short title and extent

(1) This Act may be cited as the Civil Aviation (Air Navigation Charges) Act 1989.

(2) This Act extends to Northern Ireland.
