Under the Overseas Service Superannuation Order 1961, as amended, provision is made for the payment of pensions or gratuities to or in respect of officers to whom the Overseas Service Act 1958 applies, in respect of their service under the United Kingdom Government.

In order that such officers may continue to be “ contracted out ” of the United Kingdom Graduated Pension Scheme, this Order amends the 1961 Order by providing for the change in the rate of equivalent pension benefits in the said Scheme made by section 3(2) of the National Insurance Act 1963 (1963 c.7).
