Made: 23rd September 1966

Laid before Parliament: 30th September 1966

Coming into Operation: 1st October 1966

The Minister of Housing and Local Government, in exercise of his powers under sections 84, 85 and 90 of the London Government Act 1963 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following order:—

This order may be cited as the London Authorities (Staff) Order 1966, and shall come into operation on 1st October 1966.

Article 4 shall apply—

Every officer entering (or having entered) the employment of any authority as specified in article 3 shall, so long as he continues in that employment by virtue of the contract under which he enters (or has entered) therein, enjoy terms and conditions of employment not less favourable than those he enjoyed immediately before 1st April 1965:

In the London Authorities (Superannuation) Order 1965[^f00003], in article 3 (Definition of transferred employee) the following item shall be added—

(cc) any officer entering (or having entered) the employment of any authority as specified in (a) or (b) of article 3 of the London Authorities (Staff) Order 1966,

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order makes provision for the protection of interests of certain persons employed in the removal or disposal of refuse, or in the weights and measures service, whose position was affected by the London Government Act 1963.
