The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Whereas by section 9(2) of the Arbitration (International Investment Disputes) Act 1966 it is provided that the said Act shall come into force on such day as Her Majesty may by Order in Council certify to be the day on which the Convention on the settlement of investment disputes between States and nationals of other States which was opened for signature in Washington on 18th March 1965 (hereinafter referred to as “the Convention”) comes into force as regards the United Kingdom:

Now, therefore, Her Majesty in pursuance of the power vested in Her by the said section 9(2) is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

It is hereby certified that the Convention comes into force as regards the United Kingdom on 18th January 1967.

This Order may be cited as the Arbitration (International Investment Disputes) Act 1966 (Commencement) Order 1966.
