At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 13th day of November 1967

Present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 2(1) of the Carriage of Goods by Road Act 1965 (which provides that Her Majesty may by Order in Council from time to time certify who are the High Contracting Parties to the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road signed at Geneva on 19th May 1956 and in respect of what territories they are respectively parties) is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

It is hereby certified that the High Contracting Parties to the said Convention and the territories in respect of which they are respectively parties are as specified in the Schedule to this Order.

This Order may be cited as the Carriage of Goods by Road (Parties to Convention) Order 1967.

SCHEDULE

The High Contracting Parties to the Convention, the territories in respect of which they are respectively parties and the dates of entry into force of the Convention in regard to such territories are as follows:—

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Carriage of Goods by Road Act 1965 gives effect in the United Kingdom to the Convention signed at Geneva on 19th May 1956 on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road. This Order certifies who are the High Contracting Parties to the Convention and in respect of what territories they are respectively parties. The Order is, except in so far as it may be superseded by a subsequent Order, conclusive evidence of the matters so certified.
