At the Court at Windsor Castle, the 23rd day of March 1967

Present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Whereas by section 1(3) of the Carriage by Air Act 1961, it is provided that that section shall come into force on such day as Her Majesty may by Order in Council certify to be the day on which the Warsaw Convention as amended at The Hague, 1955, comes into force as regards the United Kingdom;

And whereas the United Kingdom deposited on 3rd March 1967 its instrument of ratification of the Protocol of 1955 whereby the Warsaw Convention was amended at the Hague and that Protocol will, in accordance with Article XXII.1 thereof, come into force for the United Kingdom on 1st June 1967:

Now, therefore, Her Majesty is pleased, in pursuance of section 1(3) of the Carriage by Air Act 1961, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

1st June 1967 is hereby certified as the day on which the Warsaw Convention as amended at The Hague, 1955, comes into force as regards the United Kingdom.

This Order may be cited as the Carriage by Air (Convention) Order 1967.
