Made: 27th March 1969
The Minister of Transport and the Secretary of State acting jointly, and the Minister of Transport acting separately, as shown in the Schedule to this Order, hereby make this Order in exercise of their powers under section 166 of the Transport Act 1968 and of all other enabling powers:—

This Order may be cited as the Transport Act 1968 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1969.

The provisions of the Transport Act 1968 (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”) specified in the Schedule to this Order shall come into force on the 21st April 1969.
SCHEDULE — PROVISIONS COMING INTO FORCE ON THE 21ST APRIL 1969
A.Provisions brought into force by the Minister of Transport and the Secretary of State acting jointly
InPart IXof the Act.
- Sections 126 to 129.
- Section 130 in so far as it was not brought into force by the Transport Act 1968 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1968[^f00001].
In the Schedules to the Act
- Schedule 14 in so far as it was not brought into force by the Transport Act 1968 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1968.
B.Provisions brought into force by the Minister of Transport
In Part Xof the Act
- Section 165 so far as it relates to those provisions of Schedule 18 to the Act specified below.
In the Schedules to the Act
- In Schedule 18— The whole of Part II of that Schedule (REPEALS IN ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT act 1967 (1967 c. 76)) except the repeal of the words “left or parked” in section 80(1)(a) of that Act. In Part III of that Schedule—the following MISCELLANEOUS REPEALS

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order brings into operation on the 21st April 1969 those provisions of Part IX (Regulation of Road Traffic) of the Transport Act 1968 (except section 131) which were not brought into operation by the Transport Act 1968 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1968. It also brings into operation on the same date all the provisions of Schedule 14 to the Act which were not brought into operation by the above-mentioned Commencement No. 1 Order, all the provisions of Part II of Schedule 18 to the Act (except for one repeal which is associated with section 131) and the repeal by Part III of Schedule 18 to the Act of section 26 of the Greater London Council (General Powers) Act 1967 (a repeal which is consequential on the bringing into operation of the above-mentioned provisions of Part IX of the Transport Act 1968).
