Made: 1st November 1972

Coming into Operation: 1st January 1973

In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by sections 3(3)(a) and 4(1) read with section 34(1), (2) and (3) of the Immigration Act 1971, I hereby make the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Immigration (Revocation of Employment Restrictions) Order 1972 and shall come into operation on 1st January 1973.

In this Order “the Order of 1953” means the Aliens Order 1953[^f00001], as amended[^f00002] .

which prohibits an alien from or imposes restrictions on taking employment or engaging in any occupation in the United Kingdom.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order revokes any restrictions on taking employment or engaging in any occupation in the United Kingdom imposed on an alien under the Aliens Order 1953 and still in force on 1st January 1973, if the alien is a national of a state which is a member of the European Economic Community.
