Made: 23rd March 1972

Coming into Operation: 1st April 1972

The Secretary of State in exercise of his powers under Articles 9(3), 11(2) and (5), 25(2), 26(1)(c), 27(4), 28(1) and (3) and 61 of the Air Navigation Order 1972[^f00001], as applied to Guernsey by the Air Navigation (Guernsey) Order 1972[^f00002] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:

These Regulations may be cited as the Air Navigation (General) (Guernsey) Regulations 1972 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1972.

  • (1) The Air Navigation (General) (Guernsey) Regulations 1966[^f00003] are hereby revoked.
  • (2) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of these Regulations as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

The Air Navigation (General) Regulations 1972[^f00004] shall apply in relation to Guernsey as they apply in relation to the United Kingdom with modifications, adaptations and exceptions specified in the Schedule to these Regulations.

In these Regulations the expression “Guernsey” means the Bailiwick of Guernsey and the territorial waters thereof.

SCHEDULE — MODIFICATIONS AND ADAPTATIONS OF AND EXCEPTIONS FROM THE AIR NAVIGATION (GENERAL) REGULATIONS 1972

Any reference to the Air Navigation Order 1972 shall be construed as a reference to that Order as applied to Guernsey by the Air Navigation (Guernsey) Order 1972.

In Regulation 5(1) for the words “the United Kingdom” there shall be substituted the word “Guernsey”.

In Regulation 6(4)(c) for the words “the United Kingdom” there shall be substituted the word “Guernsey”.

Regulations 12 and 14 shall be omitted.

In Regulation 15, paragraph (3) shall be omitted and in paragraph (4) the words “without prejudice to the requirements of Regulations 14” shall be omitted.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations revoke and reproduce the substance of the Air Navigation (General) (Guernsey) Regulations 1966 and substitute the Secretary of State for the Board of Trade.
