Made: 28th September 1973
The Secretary of State for Education and Science and the Secretary of State for Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 1(5) of the Education Act 1973, hereby order as follows:—

This Order may be cited as the Education Act 1973 (Commencement) Order 1973.

Section 1(1)(a) of, and Part III of schedule 2 to, the Education Act 1973 shall come into force on 1st February 1974.

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order appoints 1st February 1974 as the day on which the functions of the Secretary of State for Education and Science and the Secretary of State for Wales under the Charities Act 1960 (c.58) cease to be exercisable by them.
