The Secretary of State, in exercise of his powers under section 1(1) of the Atomic Energy Authority (Weapons Group) Act 1973, and all other powers in that behalf enabling him, hereby orders as follows:

This Order may be cited as the Atomic Energy Authority (Weapons Group) Act 1973 (Appointed Day) Order 1973.

The appointed day for the purposes of section 1 of the Atomic Energy Authority (Weapons Group) Act 1973 shall be 1st April 1973.

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order fixes the 1st April 1973 as the appointed day for the purposes of section 1 of the Atomic Energy Authority (Weapons Group) Act 1973. Upon that date will take place the transfers provided for in that Act of that part of the undertaking of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority known as the Weapons Group to the Secretary of State.
