The Housing Act 1974 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1975
Made: 7th July 1975
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 131(3) of the Housing Act 1974 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following order:—

- (1) This order may be cited as the Housing Act 1974 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1975.
- (2) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of this order as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

The provisions of the Housing Act 1974 specified in the Schedule to this order shall come into operation on 1st September 1975.
SCHEDULE
- Section 119 in so far as it is not already in operation.
- Section 130(1) in so far as it relates to paragraph 2 of Schedule 13.
- Schedule 11 in so far as it is not already in operation.
- In Schedule 13, paragraph 2.

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order brings into operation on 1st September 1975 those provisions of the Housing Act 1974 which—
(i) introduce certain new conditions for option mortgage subsidy under Part II of the Housing Subsidies Act 1967 (c.29);
(ii) make transitional provisions for existing option mortgages; and
(iii) make a consequential amendment to the Magistrates' Courts Act 1952 (c.55).
