Made: 10th July 1975

The Secretary of State for the Home Department and the Secretary of State for Scotland, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 24(4) of the Road Traffic Act 1974 and according to their respective functions in relation to the provisions of that Act specified in this Order, hereby make the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic Act 1974 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1975.

Sections 1 to 5 of and Schedule 1 to the Road Traffic Act 1974 (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”) shall come into operation on 1st September 1975 together with the provision in Schedule 7 which relates to section 80(10) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1967 and section 24(3) of the Act so far as it relates to that entry.
