Made: 11th July 1975

Coming into Operation: 25th July 1975

Whereas the Charity Commissioners for England and Wales have, in pursuance of section 19(1) of the Charities Act 1960, settled the Scheme set out in the Appendix to this Order with a view to its being given effect under that section:

And Whereas the said Scheme does not alter any statutory provision contained in or having effect under any public general Act of Parliament:

Now, therefore, I, the Right Honourable Roy Harris Jenkins, one of Her Majesty's Principal Secretaries of State, in pursuance of section 19(2) of the Charities Act 1960, hereby make the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Charities (National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty) Order 1975 and shall come into operation on the fourteenth day after the day on which it is made.

The Scheme set out in the Appendix to this Order shall have effect.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order gives effect to a Scheme of the Charity Commissioners relating to the National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty, which is regulated by the National Trust Acts 1907 to 1971.

This Scheme removes the limit upon the number of members of the executive committee and makes consequential provision as to the proportion of members of that committee who must be members of the Council of the National Trust.
