Made: 9th September 1975
The Secretary of State for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred by section 24(4) of the Road Traffic Act 1974 and of all other enabling powers hereby makes the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic Act 1974 (Commencement No. 6) Order 1975.

- (1) On the 1st October 1975 there shall come into operation the provisions of the Road Traffic Act 1974 (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”) specified in Column (1) of Schedule 1 to this Order and which relate to the matters respectively specified in relation to these provisions in column (2) of that Schedule to the extent and for the purposes specified in that Schedule.
- (2) On the 1st January 1976 there shall come into operation the provisions of the Act specified in Column (1) of Schedule 2 to this Order and which relate to the matters respectively specified in relation to those provisions in column (2) of that Schedule to the extent specified in that Schedule.

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order brings into operation the remaining provisions of Section 13 and Schedule 3 to the Road Traffic Act 1974 and related repeals, which were not brought into operation by the Orders referred to in Schedule 2.
