The Control of Pollution Act 1974 (Commencement No.8) Order 1977
Made: 1st March 1977
The Secretary of State for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 109(2) of the Control of Pollution Act 1974 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following order:—

This order may be cited as the Control of Pollution Act 1974 (Commencement No. 8) Order 1977.

The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of this order as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

The provisions of the Control of Pollution Act 1974 which are specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this order and which relate to the subject matter specified in column 2 thereof shall come into force as respects inner London boroughs on 1st April 1977.

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order, which applies only to the inner London boroughs, brings into force on 1st April 1977 provisions of the Control of Pollution Act 1974 that concern the emptying of, and the disposal of waste from, earthclosets, privys, ashpits and cesspools by collection authorities.
