Made: 1st April 1977

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 23(2) of the Energy Act 1976 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby orders as follows:—

This Order may be cited as the Energy Act 1976 (Commencement No. 3) Order 1977.

The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply to the interpretation of this Order as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

The following provisions of the Energy Act 1976 shall come into operation on 1st May 1977:—

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into operation on 1st May 1977 all the provisions of the Energy Act 1976 not already in operation, that is to say, sections 8 to 11 (offshore natural gas) and 12 (disposal of gas by flaring etc.) and provisions related to those sections.
