Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred on Her by section 14(5) of the State Immunity Act 1978, or otherwise in Her Majesty vested, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

This Order may be cited as the State Immunity (Federal States) Order 1979 and shall come into operation on 2nd May 1979.

The provisions of Part I of the State Immunity Act 1978 shall apply to the following constituent territories of the Republic of Austria as they apply to a State: Burgenland, Carinthia, Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Salzburg, Styria, Tyrol, Vorarlberg and Vienna.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order applies the provisions of Part I of the State Immunity Act 1978 to the constituent territories of the Republic of Austria, in accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 28 of the European Convention on State Immunity (Cmnd. 5081).
