Made: 5th November 1980

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 153(4) and section 151(1) of the Housing Act 1980 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following order:—

This order may be cited as the Housing Act 1980 (Commencement No. 4) Order 1980.

Section 115 of the Housing Act 1980 shall come into operation on 11th November 1980.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings section 115 of the Housing Act 1980 into operation on 11th November 1980. This will enable elderly persons who obtain loans on the security of their homes, in order to purchase annuities, to obtain subsidies on the interest payable on the loans under the Housing Subsidies Act 1967 (c. 29).
