The Secretary of State for Social Services, in exercise of powers conferred upon him by section 23(2A) of the Health Services Act 1976[^f00001] and section 130(4) of the National Health Service Act 1977, hereby makes the following order:—
Citation and commencement

This order may be cited as the Isles of Scilly (National Health Service) Order 1981 and shall come into operation on 9th November 1981.
Extension of Acts to the Isles of Scilly

- (1) The Health Services Act 1976 shall extend to the Isles of Scilly.
- (2) The National Health Service Act 1977 shall extend to the Isles of Scilly with the modification that the expression “local authority” in that Act shall, in relation to those Isles, mean the Council of those Isles constituted under the Isles of Scilly Order 1978.
Revocations

The Isles of Scilly (National Health Service) Orders 1948, 1951, 1961 and 1969 are hereby revoked.

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order extends the Health Services Act 1976 and the National Health Service Act 1977 to the Isles of Scilly and revokes orders extending repealed former legislation to those Isles.
