Made: 17th February 1981
The Secretary of State for the Environment (as respects England), the Secretary of State for Wales (as respects Wales), and the Secretary of State for Scotland (as respects Scotland), in exercise of their powers under section 109(2) of the Control of Pollution Act 1974 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following order:

This order may be cited as the Control of Pollution Act 1974 (Commencement No. 14) Order 1981.

Section 108(2) of the Control of Pollution Act 1974 shall come into force in so far as it relates to the reference in Schedule 4 to the Deposit of Poisonous Waste Act 1972 on 16th March 1981.

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This order, which applies to Great Britain, brings into force on 16th March 1981 the provision of the Control of Pollution Act 1974 which repeals the Deposit of Poisonous Waste Act 1972. That Act is now superseded by the Control of Pollution (Special Waste) Regulations 1980 (S.I. 1980/1709) which come into operation on 16th March 1981.
