The Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Act 1979 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1982
Made: 13th July 1982
In exercise of the power conferred upon me by section 24(2) of the Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Act 1979 I hereby make the following order:—
Citation and interpretation

- (1) This order may be cited as the Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Act 1979 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1982.
- (2) In this order “the Act” means the Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Act 1979.
Appointed days

- (1) The day appointed for the coming into operation of Schedule 2 to the Act (in so far as it is not already in force) shall be 15th September 1983.
- (2) The day appointed for the coming into operation of paragraph 6(2) of Schedule 1 to the Act shall be 1st November 1983.

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order brings into operation on 15th September 1983 the provisions of Schedule 2 to the Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Act 1979 which are not already in force and which relate to the membership of the National Boards after the appointed day and in particular to the elected members. On 1st November 1983 it brings into operation paragraph 6(2) of Schedule 1 to that Act which makes provision for the quorum of the Central Council.
