The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 9(1) of the Miscellaneous Financial Provisions Act 1983, hereby makes the following order:—

This order may be cited as the Miscellaneous Financial Provisions Act 1983 (Commencement of Provisions) Order 1983.

Sections 1 and 8 of, and Schedule 1 and 3 to, the Miscellaneous Financial Provisions Act 1983 shall come into force on 1st April 1984.

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order brings into force on 1st April 1984 sections 1 and 8 of, and Schedules 1 and 3 to, the Miscellaneous Financial Provisions Act 1983. (By virtue of section 9(2) of the Act the remainder of the Act came into force on 13th July 1983.).
Section 1 and Schedule 1 provide for the establishment of the Development Commission in place of the Development Commissioners appointed under Part I of the Development and Road Improvement Funds Act 1909 (c. 47). Repeals, consequential on the provisions of the Act, are provided for in section 8 and Schedule 3.
