The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in pursuance of paragraph (c) of Schedule 2 to the Charities Act 1960, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

This Order may be cited as the Exempt Charities Order 1983 and shall come into operation on 27th October 1983.

The United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy's and St. Thomas's Hospitals, an institution connected with the University of London, is hereby declared to be an exempt charity for the purposes of the Charities Act 1960.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order declares the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy's and St. Thomas's Hospitals to be an exempt charity within the meaning of the Charities Act 1960.

Exempt charities are not required to be registered with the Charity Commissioners and the Commissioners cannot exercise any of their powers under the Act of 1960 in relation to an exempt charity except at that charity's request.
