Made: 18th December 1983

The Secretary of State, in exercise of powers conferred on him by section 4(2) of the Civil Aviation (Eurocontrol) Act 1983 (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Civil Aviation (Eurocontrol) Act 1983 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1983.

Sections 3(2) and 4 of the Act shall come into force on 1st January 1984.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into force on 1st January 1984 section 3(2) of the Civil Aviation (Eurocontrol) Act 1983 which amends section 73(4) of the Civil Aviation Act 1982 (c.16) (under which charges for air navigation services may be imposed on the operator of an aircraft) by providing that such charges may also be imposed on the owner of an aircraft and which also provides that that subsection shall be deemed always to have had effect with that amendment. The Order also brings into force on that date section 4 of the Act relating to the short title, commencement and extent.
