The Secretary of State, after consulting with the organisations referred to in section 99(2) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1970, in exercise of powers conferred by section 69 of that Act and now vested in him[^f00001] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:—

These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Crew Agreements, Lists of Crew and Discharge of Seamen) (Fishing Vessels) (Amendment) Regulations 1983 and shall come into operation on 30th March 1983.

Regulation 13 of the Merchant Shipping (Crew Agreements, Lists of Crew and Discharge of Seamen) (Fishing Vessels) Regulations 1972[^f00002] shall be amended as follows:—
- (a) by inserting after Regulation 13(1)(b)(iii) the following new sub-paragraph:—
(iiiA) his nationality;
- (b) by inserting “(iiiA),” after “(iii)”
, in Regulation 13(2).

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order amends the Merchant Shipping (Crew Agreements, Lists of Crew and Discharge of Seamen) (Fishing Vessels) Regulations 1972 by adding nationality to the particulars of seamen required to be contained in the list of crew required by section 69 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1970 as qualified by Regulation 11 of those Regulations to be made and maintained by the master of any fishing vessel registered in the United Kingdom having a length of 40 feet or more, irrespective of the particulars contained in the crew agreement.
