Made: 17th January 1983
The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the power conferred on him by Section 9 of the Matrimonial Homes and Property Act 1981 (“The Act”), hereby makes the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Matrimonial Homes and Property Act 1981 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1983.

The provisions of the Act not already in operation shall come into operation on 14th February 1983.

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The Matrimonial Homes and Property Act 1981 (Commencement No. 1 Order) 1981 (S.I. 1981/1275 (C.27)) brought into operation on 1st October 1981 sections 7 to 9 and 10(1) and (3) of the Matrimonial Homes and Property Act 1981. This Order brings the remainder of the Act into operation on 14th February 1983.
