The Wildlife and Countryside (Isles of Scilly) Order 1983
Made: 30th March 1983
Coming into Operation: 5th May 1983
The Secretary of State for the Environment, after consultation with the Council of the Isles of Scilly, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 68 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, hereby orders as follows:—

- (1) This order may be cited as the Wildlife and Countryside (Isles of Scilly) Order 1983, and shall come into operation on 5th May 1983.
- (2) In this order, “the Isles” means the Isles of Scilly.

The provisions of Part II and Part III of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 shall apply to the Isles as if those Isles were a separate county.

The said provisions shall apply with the modification that for any reference therein to a county council, county planning authority, local authority or local planning authority there shall be substituted a reference to the Council of the Isles.

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This order provides for the application of the provisions of Part II and Part III of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 to the Isles of Scilly as if the Isles were a separate county. It also provides for the modification of the said provisions in their application to the Isles.
